Photoshop Elements 8: Setting Sail for Windows and Mac

IMPORTANT! This course is the first part of a two part course in Photoshop Elements 8 Basics. This first class consists of Lessons 1-6; the second class picks up where that one left off with Lessons 7-12. You MUST take this course before taking the next one, Photoshop Elements 8 Basics Part 2: Clear Sailing.

LVS Online This class covers Photoshop Elements 8 for Windows and Mac. This is the first of a two part course, and must be completed before taking the second class, Photoshop Elements 8 Basics Part 2: Clear Sailing. You will learn the tools and interface, using the Effects palette and how to set preferences to make Elements work your way (as well as how to reset corrupted preferences). You will learn about selections and using Save for Web and much more!

This class does not cover the Organizer. Because of the scope of the Organizer and the fact it is as feature-packed as a separate program, it has its own classes. The organizing aspects of the Organizer is covered in a separate class, Photoshop Elements: Using the Organizer. The creative aspects of the Organizer, such as installing and running Actions, Layer Styles and Plugins, as well as Web Albums and PDF slideshows, is covered in Photoshop Elements: Actions and Layer Styles and Plugins! Oh, My!

Prerequisites:

You need Photoshop Elements 8 for Windows or Mac installed on your computer, and you need to understand basic Windows or Mac commands.

Homework can be posted to your own site, or students have the option of using the Student Upload Area or free web hosting made available for LVS students. Details are provided in the classroom.
